Our summer intensive kicks off next week and we are thrilled to share a bio of on one of our guest artists who will be joining us! Jesse is a favorite among students for his fun, upbeat personality and his classes follow suit!

Jesse Jones, Dancer/Choreographer/Singer/Actor is a former Dance teacher at the Philadelphia Creative & Performing Arts High School (CAPA). He has a BFA form the Unviersity of the Arts where he has studied with Roni Koresh, Eva Szabo, Christopher Huggins, Scott Jovovich, Molly Misgalla, Wayne St. David and many others. Many performing credits include Jamaica Dance Company, Bermuda Dance Company, Putty Dance Works, Eleone Dance Theater, Original Cast of two Magic Kingdom shows at Disney World, Royal Caribbean & Norwegian Cruiselines. He also is a triple talent artist performing in musicals around the US including, Dreamgirls, The Wiz, MEMEPHIS, High Society, Jesus Christ Superstar and Beauty & the Beast just to name a few. Besides teaching at CAPA he has taught at numerous studios around Philadelphia, New York, Europe and Japan. He is also a Certified Zumba instructor and teaches at 12th St. Gym and Walnut St. Theatre in Philadelphia but has also taught in Hawaii and NY.

Dress rehearsal for the showcase performances will take place on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at The Agnes Irwin School.  Students are only required to attend during the time slot listed for their class.  The dress rehearsal schedule is below.

Wayne Ballet and Center for Dance Art’s annual end of the year showcase will take place on June 12th, 2016 at The Agnes Irwin School.  Shows are at 1:00 and 4:00PM.  Most classes will only perform in one of the two shows, however our most advanced classes usually perform in both shows.

Wayne Ballet Studios will be closed in observance of Memorial Day weekend from Saturday May 28th through Monday May 30th.  There will be no classes held during this time.  Regular classes will resume on Tuesday May 31st.

Due to inclement weather auditions for Wayne Ballet Theater’s Spring Ballet- The Wizard of Oz- have been rescheduled for Saturday January 30th at the Wayne Ballet Studios.  Times per level are listed below.  Students should arrive on time for their audition and be prepared to dance right away.  The performances will be May 7th & 8th at The Agnes Irwin School.

Saturday, January 23rd Audition Schedule

2:30- 3:00PM  Ballet 1/1X

3:00- 3:30PM  Ballet 2/2X

3:30- 4:15PM  Ballet 3*

4:15- 5:00PM  Ballet 4 & Up*

*Dancers in levels 3 and higher should be prepared to dance on pointe.  Audition times are tentative and dancers may be asked to stay longer.  Please contact the studio with any questions.

Our apologies for the short notice but we have to cancel Miss Laura’s Ballet 4X/5 and Ballet 3/4 classes tomorrow, Thursday Dec. 17th.  Miss Valerie’s Pre-Ballet, Ballet 1, and Ballet 2 classes will still be held as scheduled.

Because of our Nutcracker Performances this coming weekend, we have to make changes to the regularly scheduled Saturday classes. Here is the schedule for Saturday 12/19:

9:00- 9:45AM Pre-School Ballet
10:00- 11:00AM Elementary Ballet
-There will be no Ballet 2X/3 or Ballet 1X/2 classes.
-There will be no contemporary or theater dance classes.
